At its annual meeting on June 20, 2026, the Alaska Society unanimously elected Justin Weaver to serve as its next state president. Weaver will officially begin his term on October 1, 2026. At that time, current president Eric Colgrove will transition to the role of Immediate Past President. See Officers page for photos.
This year's Fourth of July Parade started at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 4th 2026. The parade route was on Ninth Avenue and 10th Avenue in downtown Anchorage. Two SAR Alaska Society Patriots marched along with volunteer friend Barbara Kagerer from The HBorn Doctor/Alaska Music & Sound playing the fife. The Alaska DARs followed along behind us in a horse drawn wagon. Check out photos from previous year's parades...
Saturday, June 20th, we had our annual meeting at the Lake Shore Hotel in Spenard. (That's part of Anchorage for you non-Anchorage folks). This was our best-attended meeting in over ten years! We not only had one officer drive in from Soldotna (with another patriot in tow) but another flew in from Fairbanks with his mother (a member of the DAR).
